Bubby
2021 - 2026
From the day I met you, I fell in love. You were the tiniest little ball of fluff, and from that moment on, you had my whole heart.
Then one day, I got the call that you weren’t really moving. I rushed to get you and drove through a snowstorm to VCA, almost crashing my car trying to get you there. From that day forward, you became my best friend.
You stayed by my side through everything. You took your medications like a champ, laid next to my belly while I was pregnant with Amiri, and even though they only gave you a 50/50 chance, you proved everyone wrong. You even went on a date to Outback Steakhouse in my purse, and the employees couldn’t believe you were real.
Then came another chapter of our lives. You moved to Boston, and you went missing… not once, but twice. I never gave up looking for you. I drove to Boston almost every day, putting flyers on every pole I could find, refusing to believe I wouldn’t bring you home. After eight long days and a nor’easter, I finally found you in someone’s backyard. You were dirty, scared, and the second you saw me, you ran into my arms like a little spring. I’ve never felt so relieved or so happy. Even if it meant we had to ride home together in a tow truck (my fault 🤦🏼♀️), you were finally where you belonged.
From then on, you went everywhere with me. Work, errands, road trips—wherever I was, you were. You were never just my dog. You were my shadow, my comfort, my best friend, and a piece of my heart.
I can’t believe you’re gone. My days are going to be so different without you, Bubby. I love you more than words could ever say. I keep wishing I could have done more for you. If I could go back in time, I would in a heartbeat.
I feel so lost, so alone, and so numb without you here. I don’t know how to imagine life without you by my side.
I love you forever, Bubby. I hope Nana is up there holding you, loving you, and taking care of you until the day we’re together again.
Run free, my sweet boy. You’ll always be my greatest little love, and I’ll carry you with me for the rest of my life. ❤️🐾
