Cody

2005 - 2021

In memory of our Beloved Cody, a true prince. Cody blessed us with 15.8 wonderful years. He was truly the center of our hearts and made our home feel complete. We affectionally remember the first time we met Cody and brought him home. He had this adorable little skip to his step and would flail his big paws...we were instantly in love. If only we know that was the beginning of all the little quirks Cody would develop that would make us love him that much more. Infamous morning walks around the yard, chasing balls (but never, ever bringing them back), love of rides and walks at the park, obsession with pizza crust, insistence on ice cubes in his water, that side-eye he’d give, and the necessity to always talk back...Cody ruled our household, and our hearts.

Cody grew into more than just a beautiful Golden Retriever, he became our best friend. He was there beside us for many birthdays, graduations, celebrations, vacations, tears, and heartaches. No matter what was happening within the family, Cody was always there to bark in our joy or comfort us when we needed support. We counted on his constant, comforting smile.

Cody did, however, have a special place in his heart for Christopher, his owner and "brother". From the day he met Cody, the two were inseparable. If you could picture the perfect relationship between a dog and his owner, they had it. There was an unspoken devotion, a trust rooted deep in late night conversations, truck rides, long walks, and secrets that carried them both through the highs and lows of life.

They say a dog is a man's best friend, & we can certainly say that is true. Cody's love and devotion to his family were more than we could have ever dreamed of. We are forever in his debt for the beautiful and perfect memories he gave us, for the best 15.8 years of our lives. We love you forever & a day Cody! It is never goodbye, but rather see you later.

With all the love in our hearts,
Mom, Dad, Christopher, & Jessica
