Becket

Missed By: Sandy & Rob & Family

Becket Scantling/Cooperman --

Becket was called the "Handsomest Maximus" because everyone who met Becket would spontaneously proclaim -- Hello Handsome! The veterinary office staff, the bank tellers at the drive-through window, our friends, virtually everyone.

Becket was just amazing! Once in a while we are Blessed with a special family member who transforms our lives. We are so thankful to have shared 16 years with our boy. Becket was that special one ... and our first ... he was wise from the day we brought him home, dark knowing clear brown eyes that met ours -- accurately reading the feelings of our hearts; beautiful carriage -- his strong head held high, tail always up and blissfully happy. Becket was wise, courageous, trusting, & loyal to a fault, with a great sense of humor and enormous compassion for others -- animals and humans alike. He appointed himself the guardian of the fish in our Koi pond and supervised daily to assure they were carefully attended to. He asserted his regal strength in so many ways, with quiet dignity and humility. Never pushing or barking or showboating. He healed countless patients in my therapy practice -- knowing when to approach and offer his strong neck to absorb my patients tears, and when to sit at their feet -- lending quiet comfort and reassurance.

Becket was a wonderful teacher. He taught our other furry family members how to be well-mannered and respectful "kids", but most of all he brought unconditional love to our home. We are so very Blessed to have three other wonderful standard poodles at home, but there will never be another Becket. The space he left will never be filled. He will always hold a special place in our hearts ... We will miss the sweet sound of his rhythmic breathing that rocked us to sleep each night, the feeling of his comforting warm paws that smelled like popcorn -- reassuringly holding our hands as we drove in the car together, his astute bark, his protective presence that defended me on more than one occasion, and his constant affirming love.

We miss our beloved Becket more than we can say ...
Please join us in praying that Becket rest in peace and be free to run and play once again ... thank you for your love and for lighting candles for our boy.

With sweet memories and love always, xxx Sandy and Rob

I Am Always With You

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears.
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess, how much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for all the love you have shown, but now it is time I travel on alone.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near, and if you listen with your heart, you'll sure to hear all my love around you soft and clear.
And then, someday when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a wag and a "welcome home." Anonymous
