My Love. My light My Angel

My best friend closed her eyes,her head lay on the arm of her couch.
The cancer was winning. I knew she was in pain,it was hard for her to get up when she sat down.The longing to be near us clear on her face. It broke my heart to see her that way.

The thoughts that scurried through my head,As I cradled her in my arms,Were of her younger years when she ran with ease,Oh how she Loved to tease. Always happy to see me she would follow me around.

Today, there was no gentle nudge With an intense "I love you gaze,"
Only a heart that's filled with tears Remembering our joy filled days. The light of my life, It breaks my heart to let you go from my side. You are gone but never forgotten. You will Always live on in my heart.

Now you are my Angel watching over me.
