Missed By: Bethany & Lisa
Our Sweet Little Ella Bean
Our sweet little Ella Bean, I cannot believe a week has gone by since we have seen you. I miss you every second of every day and keep seeing you on the counter waiting for some food and affection, laying on your favorite sweatpants, or sitting at the water dish.
Your brother, Blue, has been looking for you, too. I see him peeking under the bureau, which was a favorite spot for you as you got sicker. I can't help but see the unfairness in the fact that you were only just seven years old when you died. To get through these sad days, I try to keep focusing instead on the fact that we were lucky enough to have you in our lives for seven years. You were diagnosed at three months old with severe cardiomyopathy. Lucky for us, we found you a great cardiologist who guided us through managing your disease for 6.5 years until it progressed to congestive heart failure. Even then, you beat the odds by living another six months.
I only hope that you knew how much you meant to us, Ella. You were our little baby and made the last seven years of our lives better just by being in it. We know someday we'll join you and be able to stroke your long silky fur again. Until then, we will have our memories to get us through these very hard days. We love and miss you more than words can say.
