Jewels

2009 - 2019

Jewels came to me in my time of need, the dog I never knew I needed. She was spirited but fiercely connected to me. We went to college together, moved multiple times, and added and lost other pets. When she deteriorated in 2016, I did everything to figure out why. Cancer, in her kidney. She was always there for me, so there was no question we would do what needed to be done. She underwent surgery to remove the cancerous kidney. 3 years, we got 3 of the best years together after that surgery. Then suddenly she seemed quiet. The next day she stopped eating. Her kidney was failing and her liver shutting down. She did so much for me, I couldn't let her suffer any longer. She left this world October 1, 2019. In my arms, knowing she was loved dearly.
