Losing Lilly.
It’s hard to be angry at anything called “The Rainbow Bridge.” I picture a wooded path, lined with toys and treats, leading to a river crossing bathed in sparking, warm sunlight. There are furry best friends on the other side.
Lilly and I shared so many adventures and journeys…but the trip across the Rainbow Bridge is one she took without. I promised her no pain, and that my heartbreaking desire for her to stay would not be stronger than her need to go. She died in my arms with my son by her side.
My sweet Ms. Lilly is now playing with Pepper, Max, Goober, Schultz, Jaeger, her sister, Chloe, and her fur Mom and Dad. thank you to so many for being such amazing humans to my girl. lilly touched so many lives.
My son drove us home from the vet, and as we crested the hill leading to our house, 5 deer walked out of the woods and stopped in front of our driveway. Lilly loved deer, and we watched as they slowly trekked back into the woods....a message from my sweet girl.
Together, we walked and hiked almost 20,000 miles in 10 years. Thank you for the happiest of trails and for being the bestest girl. Rest in peace, Ms. Lilly Tuukka puppers. You will be incredibly missed. 💗
