Lucy

2005 - 2020

"If love could have kept you here, you would have lived forever." ❤️
You will always be in our hearts, my sweet girl.
Lucy left us early Saturday morning, September 12, and we are heartbroken. We were by her side telling her how much we loved her.
She had the spirit of a puppy until her last day when heart failure suddenly came on.
She was my first pet and a true best friend and member of our family. As challenging as the pandemic has been, I am beyond grateful for all the extra time it gave us at home to spend with her. I think the last six months were the best of her life, as we were hardly ever apart.
Lucy and I had 10 amazing years together after I rescued her in June 2010. She was around 3-5 years old when she was found on the streets of Bowling Green, Kentucky and she made her way to me in Connecticut. She moved with me three times, in 2 different states, and was always up for a car ride or an adventure. She loved exploring the beaches and trails in Rhode Island. She never met a pile of laundry or a blanket she didn't like and loved a sweater or a hot towel out of the dryer when it was chilly.
Her love and enthusiasm for life were huge. She taught me so much and I am forever grateful to her. I love you, little Lu. Until we meet again. ❤️
