Manuka Honey

2018 - 2022

Honey came into my life at the lowest point i can REMEMBER. He showed up in my backyard during the pandemic, only about two years old at that point. It took me about a year before i could gain his trust enough to come inside, and get him to the vet for treatment. He had FIV and ring worm, but i honestly didnt care. He stayed in my “back hall”, a isolated room in my home with a window, plenty of roaming space, and hidey holes. I showered him in endless treats, pets and cuddles. I was so alone during the pandemic, but he was always there, purring and rubbing all over me, falling asleep on my lap. The fiv was winning, and he was so small. He wasnt able to go on and i had to put him down in 2022, but instead of having to spend the winter outside alone in the cold, he had a whole year of warmth in my house, and i loved him every day i had him.
The reason i named him “Manuka Honey” is because my mom put manuka honey on his nose to try and stop the spread of the infection, but he kept licking it off her finger before she could apply it. He was just as sweet as that honey.
I miss you and love you.
