Raising a Husky

At 12 years old, Maxx suffered from hip displacyia and arthritis. Eventually our family was forced to make a heart renching decision to end his suffering, and it was his time.
He leaves behind his parents Mike and Susan, siblings Eryn and Anthony, and his cat friends- Faith, Maci, and Abbie.

On December 20th 2002, came an unexpected litter of puppies in the neighborhood. Anthony had came home and begged for days to get a dog so "(his friend) could see it everyday." Your parents where black and white and they looked scary to me, I was not thrilled with what I was about to do..
I went to the house to look at the puppies and admediatly I noticed the little red pup being shoved away from his brothers and sisters for being the odd one of the bunch. I knew he was for us. I remember Eryn cried in the backseat because she wanted to name you snoopy; a red husky named snoopy wasn't going to happen.
Eventually Maxx felt like the right fit. "Mr Maxx Power" as your dad would say.

As a puppy you loved to chew yours (and Eryns) toys, although you trained very well such as "maxx nunights" go in the crate for bed. You weren't one for tricks and often didn't give the ball back playing fetch, but what you did learn was "sit" "easy" "stay" "run in circles" and words such as "cookie" "chewy" "outside" "walk" "treat" "ride".

You loved going to work and the Secret Running Spot with Dad. You never barked except when fire engines came by you would houl. Whenever the leash was picked up you ran to the door because you knew it ment we were going on a walk (or to sniff and pee on stuff).

On walks you liked to run against the trees and bushes. Roded Dendrums where your favorite.

You also had many nicknames.
- Mr. Maxx
- Mr. Maxx Power
- Barky Boy
- The Famous Mr. Maxx
- Fuzz Bus
- Muffin
- Pookie
- Sweet Potato Boy
- Maximus Doggy So Cute
- Captin Howdy
And I'm sure there was many more!

You were our families first dog and what a blessing it has been to allow us the privilege to be your family. Forever will the silly memories and happy stories play in our mind. Forever will you be Dads Best friend, Eryn and Anthony's first dog and puppy brother, and my perfect dog.
