Mittens

2008 - 2021

Almost 12 years ago, I walked into a local animal shelter and instantly fell in love with an orange tabby after he licked my hand through his cage. I decided in that moment I would adopt him, even though I knew my mom didn’t want anymore animals. I tried to name him Peanut because he was so tiny, but my little sister somehow named him Mittens. Mittens loved to sit in the window and watch as birds fly by or catch the occasional mouse. He loved nothing more than cuddling with anyone who gave him the attention and would let it be known that you were never done petting him. He would do just about anything for his treats, and would meow each time you announced it. I will always miss his purrs and the kisses from his scratchy tongue. Mittens was so affectionate and truly was the best cat our family could ever asked for. He’s given us all these years of love and was always the best kitty. We recently made the difficult decision of letting him cross over the rainbow bridge. We will miss him so much and I hope he knows just how much he was loved. Rest in the sweetest peace, Mittens. 💙🐾
