Rags

2023

This past Friday, February 3rd, my Rags took his place in the cosmos as a true forever dog. He took the journey peacefully, covered in kisses, held close by his Mama and Dad Pauly, with Papa Timmy close by his side.

His loss was beyond sudden, unimaginably unexpected, and shook us in ways I'm still unable to describe. But he was himself until his very last breath. He did not suffer. And for that, I am forever grateful.

His life to me was deeply meaningful,
And I fully credit him with saving mine.

He lives on forever in every sunrise, every tennis ball, every fire engine siren, every long walk or good smell. In every scrap of food that gets dropped anywhere ever. On every beach, headfirst into the waves, or belly up on a soft sun soaked patch of grass, or camouflaged into a leaf pile. In your spot on the couch 2 seconds after you get up, or nestled up in your freshly made bed or pile of clean laundry. In the squirrel population that has no idea how lucky they just got. In every hotdog you leave unattended or that sandwich you thought was safe right there on the table for 30 seconds while you grab a drink.

He lives on forever in all of it. Because nobody loved every corner of life more than Rags.

He was my light, my love, and my whole world.

(Yes. We are 100% talking about a dog.)
(And yes. My husband was 100% jealous....)

It has been the utmost honor and privilege of my life to have been chosen to be his Mama.
I will treasure him as my baby until the end of time.

Thank you to @mspca.angell for getting him to me.
Thank you to @revh_nh for getting him home safe.

I love you forever,
Ragnar Lothbrok Finigan Currier Dunphy.
Mama see you little bit ❤️
