River

2012 - 2026

River was more than just a companion and best friend, she was a lifeline. She was the light in some of the darkest times for her human, as well as many others who met her. She always knew who needed her most and when. She loved deeply and was loved deeply in return. She provided so much joy and laughter for everyone around her, from "oinking" to let you know that she had an opinion about something, to wagging her tail so hard her whole body went with it. She loved the snow, but hated her winter jacket and boots (even though everyone would tell her how cute she looked!). She enjoyed going to the beach, running around the dog park (especially away from her mom when it was time to go home) and napping on the couch with her kitties. She was welcomed over the Rainbow Bridge by her brother, Salty, who passed in June 2024, and then welcomed her ratty sister, Cheese only 3 weeks after her own crossing. She is missed more than words can express and she will always be held tight in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. Until we meet again, my silly, beautiful best friend <3
