My Sweet Baby Boy

I remember that first day before bringing you home. I said, "Remember, this is the first place we have looked, we don't have to get a puppy here." Then I saw you and fell in love. On the way home, your deworming medicine kicked in..... you ate sunglasses, chewed on Sage's ears, and tried getting out of your doggie pen by pushing it across the kitchen floor. You had 4 surgeries before you were 2 years old. We went through 2 Good Citizen classes and then I realized it wasn't you who needed the training, it was me. I never had to enforce rules because you never did anything wrong.

You loved visiting Huntington Dog Beach, going for long car rides, and diving for tennis balls in the waterfall at the Honolulu Dog Park. You let me dress you up on Halloween and enjoyed sunbathing next to me at Lanakai Beach. Remember that time you peed on a guy sitting on the beach?

You have flown to Florida, Michigan, and New Hampshire. You lived in California, Hawai'i, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Along the way you visited such sites as the Grand Canyon, Four Corners, the Largest Ball of Twine, and the famous Bra Tree. Miles, Brady, Chowdy Rowdy, Harley, Ginger, Mako, Otis, Billy, Amber, Trot, Maggie Mae, Dusty Rose, and Mr. Finkle were some of your friends along the way.

I know these past few months have been hard on you. You were sick and had to take many medications everyday. You put up with doctors and appointments and never complained. It is going to be a tough adjustment not having you by my side in this physical world. I can only hope that Memea is there to love you and kiss you and give you all the treats you want until I get there.

Rocky, Rockstar, Bubba, Stinkey Butt, Papa, my sexy boyfriend....

You are the love of my life. You have been by my side through thick and thin for the past 11 1/2 years. One day the tears will stop but you will always be in my heart. Until we meet again my sweet baby boy.....
