Rest in Peace - Miss Sookie Belle Tutt
February 14th 2012 - August 8th 2026
We will always love you, our prettiest baby girl in the whole wide world.
On Tuesday Mine and Moms sun imploded, our stars went dark, and the world stopped turning.
We are both still in shock, Sookie was mom’s daughter, and my sister. A protector in so many ways, she made sure mom was safe with her alerts, and always made sure I felt safe. She helped us both overcome so much.
Sookie was born back in the swamps, and abandoned and the first time we saw her God himself shone a light directly on her to make sure we met.
Her first big adventure was as a YouTube star. She got to be a little world traveler, and ended up being an island girl.
She was my best friend from the time I was just 16, my constant passenger, my co conspirator and support as I became an adult and person. I have never known an adult life without her.
For mom, she was a best friend and partner, a constant companion, her little bed heater who kept her warm at night. She tested mom’s leg muscles to make sure they were strong every day, by trying to take her knees out, atleast 8-10 times every single day.
Sookie made sure we always ate on time, went to bed on time, and got our roadtrips started on time, and she always ALWAYS made sure we checked out of our hotels on time.
I’d list the things we are both missing but those things are infinite, so I’ll just list a few. Wake up snuggles, Morning Apple Time, Vitamin Time, Going to the Ferry, Package time, breakfast time. She loved food so much and Mom home cooked her every meal and I cooked most of her treats.
We miss, maybe the most, her little barking fits and her stomping her feet at us to hurry us. Her peaking her little face halfway around the corner and me being able to smile at her and say “What Pretty Girl? We are hurrying, I promise.” Because we were always moving to slow for her. Kissing her on the nose and seeing her little crooked teeth smile at you.
Our hearts feel beyond broken, but we both know that for her 14 and a half years on this planet that she knew only love, and that we did everything in our power to take care of her, and to protect her. And that for every day of her life in return she did the same for us. We know how lucky we were to have had her for so much longer than most people get, and how lucky we are that she was ours.
There will never be another Sookie the Puppy
We love you pretty girl, we love you baby girl, we love you, we love you. Thank you for having been ours, thank you for so many years of love and laughter and joy, for brightening our world on all of our darkest days. We will always love you.
