Thunder

2008 - 2023

Thunder left this world after peacefully crossing over the rainbow bridge on May 26, 2023, and onto the tallest ethereal cat tree. He was one and a half months shy of his 15th birthday. Thunder – also known as Thun-Thun and Thunderbutt – was the adored cat of the Erb family. Thunder was originally born in Centerville, MA, he was the sweetest kitten, very loving, and fun. He has always run the show and held his mother, Sheryl's, heart. Through the years he gained a sister, brother, and another mother with new cat siblings to play with.

Thunder’s personality dominated every room he strutted into, he loved greeting guests, sitting in the sun, watching the birds and squirrels, chasing his sister Opal and late sister Harley, playing with his feather toy, and most of all, eating treats and cuddling with his mother, Sheryl. His last days were spent surrounded by so much love. He got to experience roaming outside, rolling in the grass, and fresh chicken and ham. He loved every bit of it and we were so lucky to be able to have these last days with him. Thunder is now reunited with his late sisters, Harley and Jerri-Leigh, and is survived by his mothers Sheryl and Michelle, sister Opal and brother Keller.

Thunder, thank you for all the years of love and pure happiness. You were the best cat we could have ever had and the love you gave us is more than we could have ever asked for. You gave us friendship, love, and companionship, and for that and so much more, we could never repay you. You will be forever missed, and we will keep you in our hearts and memories for the rest of our lives.

Your favorite chair is vacant now…
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
Ecstatically to meet me.

No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it’s time for feeding.
I’ve put away your bowl, and all
The things you won’t be needing;

But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure
The happiness you brought me,
The comfort and the pleasure.

And since you came here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow;
I’m sure there’ll be a place for you
In Heaven’s bright tomorrow…
