I saw your very first breath, a tiny spark of life,
And I held you through the last, through the sorrow and the grief.
I was there for the beginning, and I stayed until the end—
My beautiful, courageous boy, my forever little friend.
You fought a quiet battle, Tommy, brave and deep,
While I held the heavy promises I knew I had to keep.
You were the love of my life, a bond so pure and true,
And my heart will never find another quite like you.
The house feels far too quiet now, the sunbeams a bit dim,
But I’ll carry every memory and the light I found in him.
Though you've found your peace where the golden shadows play,
I’ll hold you in my heart forever, every single day.
